Farewell The Weeknd
Hi, I’m Taylor and I want this blog to be a look inside my inter(net) adventures.
Last week, I spoke about the newly released album, Eusexua by Fka Twigs. I’m still listening to that album on repeat, but I have also been listening to The Weeknd’s new album, Hurry Up Tomorrow.
The Weeknd is my all-time favorite artist; I have been a fan of his since his first album in 2011. I was introduced to his music through my cool, older cousins (atleast that’s how I saw them). This is sixth and final studio album under the name “The Weeknd” and he will proceed to go by Abel Tesafaye. This end of era-end of a saga pains me, but his amazing albums will still exist and I’m sure what he has planned ahead will be great!
My net adventures at the beginning of this month have been fun so far because of Black History Month. I’m a nineteen year old black girl and could not be any prouder to be African American. I opened my Tiktok on the first of the month to the most amount of Black love and celebration. I had seen so many edits of powerful black figures and leaders, that just felt really inspiring to be honest. My favorite video, I had seen was a clip from the original 1983 Broadway show, Dreamgirls. Beautiful black women with strong voices like Sheryl Lee Ralph in Dreamgirls just makes my day.
