Love is Blind?

I can barely remember my net adventures for this past week, even though my screen time was still over a whopping 10 hours.

Last week, I know I spoke on Season 8 of Love is Blind, and continuing here; the season still has no flavor. One of the five engaged couples has broken up by episode 11 and I know one of the couples for sure does not say “yes” at the altar. The couple who broke up, David and Lauren, were doomed from the start in my opinion. Based on how Dave was approaching women in the pods, behind a wall where they cannot see each other, he was never going to be a great fit for Lauren. She comes across as a bit too people-pleasing as she placates him while he slut-shamed her for having exes before going on the show. I enjoy shows like these, of course for the drama, but also the nuances of human sexuality and behavior. The one couple who do not agree to marriage at the altar, Ben and Sarah, are particularly interesting in this aspect. From the beginning of their pod relationship, Sarah made it known that social issues are a big thing for her and Ben did not share the same sentiments. Neither of the two 30-year-old individuals has voted in past years, but Sarah at least shows support for LGBTQ rights due to her older sister being a lesbian. However, when Sarah brings this to Ben’s attention he’s indifferent at best. He cites himself as having friends that are “that way” referring to different sexualities. And SJW Sarah found no issue with the wording or lack of real stance. Throughout the season, she claims they have the same political beliefs and understandings which is simply untrue. Only for love (and residual fame from being on a TV show) will one put aside their core beliefs and it’s fascinating to watch, to say the least.
